| i-Pry monitors how intolerant customers are of being kept waiting before the telephone is answered by customer service departments. Approximately 10% of people hang up after 30 seconds, and over half of people hang up after one minute. When asked how quickly their own company answers the phone, 63% of CEOs replied 'Within four rings.' However, i-Pry research reveals that although that performance may be true for companies with automated answering systems, the time taken to actually speak to a live person is typically much longer, and typically much longer than either customers or CEOs consider satisfactory. |
